Dear Ms Sally Brown


On 8 February 2010, you presented to walk-in centre with a badly scratched right arm after played with family cat seven days ago. You hadnot worried about scratch, consequently it became infected. At that time, it was stung but stopped. Dull pain in the right arm was mentioned. Headache, stomach cramping, chills at night have been reported. Based on examination temperature 39degrees C slightly elevated pulse 78 it is normal, blod pressure 155/100 which is abnormal for your age. In addition, swollen lymphnodes at right arm pit and looked anxious.


As per the above mentioned circumstances, it has been diagnosed with Cat Scratch Disease from cat with bartonella henselae bacteria. You have been treated appropriately such as scratened area was cleaned with savlon. Heat pads has been applied for pain relief. In order to keep scratched area clean, to purchase anti-bacterial soap from pharmacy was advised. Ciprofloxacin 500mg three times a day for 10 days was prescribed by Nurse practitioner.


It is highly recommended to follow up with GP if you are not beneficial from the given management.
