QQ-3844. Mr Amir Akbari – Nursing – Venus Jebaselvi - Guillain-Barre Syndrome


 

Dear Nurse,


I am referring Mr Amir Akbari, who has been diagnosed with Guillian-Barre Syndrome. He requires ongoing care and appropriate management from your facility following the discharge.


On 6th March 2011, he was admitted due to rapid deterioration, consequently, ventilator support and ICV care was essential for improving health status. While hospitalization, at time, GES was peak he was not able to move the extremities independently. Therefore, muscle tone and strength has been decreased to provide assistance while performing ADLs. Participation in physio program would be extremely beneficial as well as, kindly encourgae him to perform self limb exercises. Please note that, walking slowly with support of frame is possible. In addition, he underwent regular plasmapharesis and had totally 5/7 of IV gammagloblin.


Regarding social and medical history, he lives with wife and two children, natuve is Iranian, belong to muslim religion and also able speak english. In addition, financial, study and children pressure was not able to managed by wife due to poor support. Kindly ensure social worker to be aware about his family and wife stress level are managed well. It is observed that depression and anxiety are suspectible as PTSD has been diagnosed due to experienced a war trauma in 80s. It might be helpful if you could discuss with the team and in case, requires for psychiatry assessment is appreciated.


Based on the aforementioned circumstances, currently his oxygen status is phenomenal; however observatin for any remarkable charges in the respiratory status and in the neurological signs are necessary.
