Re: Matthew McConaughey, aged 10
I am writing to refer Maste Matthew McConaughey, who has been diagnosed with refractory asthma, requires an urgent assessment for the need of bronchial thermoplasty and further evaluation from your service.
He was presented to our clinic with complaints of wheezing, chest pain, dyspnea and cough on 05 May 2020. On investigation chest x-ray and CT scan shows the normal, and spirometry test found that 78% of forced expiratory volume. Therefore, he was commenced fluticasone, 44, mcg, two puffs, twice a day. Subsequently, he had fever and inhaler close changed from 2 to 3 times a day. In addition, his allergic-skin test revealed that he is allergic for dust and trees.
Therefore, anticholinergic and leukotreiene modifiers were prescribed and his vitals were monstored. During on his Next visit for hia cough releive, steam inhalataion and non-pharmacological measures were provided. Currently, he has additional symptoms of thick secretions, weak and pale.
In terms of his background, medically he had bronchial asthma for the past 5 years, for which he takes albuteral rescue inhaler 3 times a week for past 5 years, for which he takes albuteral rescue inhaler 3 times a weak for past two years. However, he had intermittent chest infection in the last 6 months. There is no family history of asthma.
Based on the aforementioned circumstances chest infection in the last 6 months. There is no family history of asthma.
Based on the aforementioned circumstances, he needs an urgent evaluation for the need bronchial thermoplasty and further investigations.
