Dear dr.cox,
Re:Mr.Fergus marks,aged 35
I am writing to refer Mr.marks who required continued care and management,as he was diagnosed with otitis externa infection due to flushing and increased activity and unstable blood glucose levels due to infection.
Mr.Marks presented with severe ear pain and cotton buds used while cleaning flushing with water took paracetamol ineffective on examination ear canal appears hot and red on palpation,no evidence of internal ear infection and discharge in addition to he has type II diabetes mellitus on self controlled insulin pump .
Mr.Marks is married he has two children on holidays for two weeks most of the time spent in resort for swimming and driving and also he has type II diabetes mellitus on insulin pump basic dose additional if required bolus insulin.
Mr.Marks advised to refrain swimming and cotton buds flushing of water continue to take simple analgesic paracetamol is ineffective considered to take Ibuprofen in addition to basic insulin dose if required
