Re: Ms Anna Dijana, aged 42
Dear Ms Ina
I am referring Ms Dijana who is recuperating from external fixation of right lower leg surgery , requires ongoing care and further management. She is being discharged today.
On 15 July 2018, she had a fall and diagnosed as right proximal tibial fracture therefore emergency fasciotomies of right lower leg surgery was done.
Postoperatively fractures were stabilized with external fixator and commenced on pain medications. Wound vac was initiated on fasciotomy incisions for monitoring drainage .
Post treatment assessment suggests no signs of infection, swelling or pain . All the vital signs are unremarkable and can rest comfortably.
Occupationally works as as a school teacher , married and having two children. Past medical history includes seizures for which Carbamazepine is being used.
Based on the above mentioned details ,encourage to monitor wound site for any signs of infection and if noticed to inform nurse immediately. Advice to keep the site of wound clean and sterile.Adequate rest to the extremity and monitoring for any drainage from the wound is necessary.
If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours sincerely
Registered nurse
