Re: Patricia Styles, DIB:24 April 1957


I an referring Ms Patricia Styles, who has been diagnosed with pericarditis and viral influenza type B requires an expeditious evaluation and expedient management from your service.


Today, Ms Styles presented with the complaints of chest pain, shortness of breath and fatigue. On examination, she was feverish with temp- 38.1C,blood pressure 125/78, along with elevated pulse rate and heart rate. She appeared distressed regarding progress in recovery.


Ms Styles was admitted in Green Valley Hospital on 23 August 2019 with the complaints of high fever, pleuristic chest pain,tachycardia and general malaise. During Hospitalization, she was treated with ibuprofen 600mg and intravenous saline. Throat swab and chest x-ray reports revealed the diagnosis. She was discharged on 25 August 2019 with a follow-up appointment.


Ms Styles, a retired teacher, lives alone and has no children. She has had hypertension and diabetes mellitus since 2011 and 2013 respectively. She also has depression which escalated after her husband's death, for which she is on regular counselling. Her current medications are Quinapril 40mg,Metformin 500 mg, Glibenclamide 30 mg daily.


Pertaining to the above details, it would be profoundly beneficial if you could perform an immediate assessment and thorough management of Ms Styles's condition.
