Dear Registrar,

Re: Amina Erica, aged 8

Amina, who has exhibiting symptoms of meningococcal meningitis requires an urgent assessment and management at your facility.

On today's visit, Amina is lethargic, restlessness also complained of worsening headache and 2 episodes of vomiting. On examination, macula-popular rashes over the legs and positive stiffness of the neck were observed. In addition, white blood cells was noted as 18000. Therefore, stat dose of penicillin injection was administered intravenously.

On 9 October,2010 Amina was presented with the complaints of fever, runny nose, mild cough and loss of appetite. A viral infection was diagnosed and was managed conservatively. After 2 days, symptoms continued to deteriorate. Hence, brufen 200mg was commenced and blood investigation were ordered.

Amina's parents were refugees from Somalia. Presently, they have Australian citizenship. She and father are good at English but mother has limited understanding.

In view of the above mentioned circumstances,it would be grateful if you could provide immediate treatment and evaluate Amina's condition.

Please contact me,if you have any queries.
